The unholy genetic splice of an African Lion and a Beta Fish >D
Yeah this is my contest entry for the Splice contest thing.
I've always loved the Beta Fish, they are so beautiful and unassuming, to look at them you would never know that it is a vicious fight-to-the-death alpha male tough guy. And, well, there is nothing unassuming about a male African Lion, the Terminators of the Savanna, baby.
Together they would make the most terrible Sea Monsters imaginable! After I clone an army of these, I could CONTROL THE SEAS AND RULE THE WORLD!!! AHAAHAAAHAA
Or it'll just make a contest entry I am really fond of... I'm no good at gene splicing anyways.
I'm not exactly good at creating creature, so take this with a grain of salt.
I'd agree that it would help your overall composition and presentation if you'd have a full view of the creature. For this you could do some more studies. > At first glance I'd say that the bone structure of your beast could use some revision so this would be the point where you could start. Particularly the front shoulder and the foot look off. > Then you could continue adjusting the shading. At some points it still looks a bit rough. > For the final touches I'd suggest to draw more irregular bubbles - especially the big ones look quite artificial.
I'm thinking I am going to do a revisit of this one. I really want to do a nice job for this contest. I think I need to start with more of a plan when it comes to these pieces, I was just kind of messing around with the whole thing and it just grew. Its too bad about the bubbles, I was feeling really proud of them.
Thanks for your advice! It really helps and I appreciate it

Aww, don't be sad about the bubbles! Maybe you could try this: [link] Those forms are a bit more organic and natural. :3
